Valerie Maas (Aunjanue Ellis) is a
devoted, churchgoing wife and mother
whose faith is shattered when she
discovers that her husband Dutch (Raz
Adoti) is living a secret double life.
And when she's subsequently arrested for
the murder of a famous singer - who, it
turns out, has a big secret of his own -
Valerie is as shocked as anyone; she's
the last person anyone would suspect
would do such a thing. But she may
actually have the best motive of all,
and an assistant D.A. with an election
to win is determined to prove she's
guilty... even if he's wrong.
Beyond provacative. This thriller
crosses subject lines straight out of
today's headlines. From politics to
faith. The psyche to sex and betrayal,
Cover grasps the audience with a
gripping story line and suspence right
out the gate.
Vivica Fox is extraordinary in her role
as the Valerie's friend who gives her
the hook-up with the lastest photography
jobs. Although she's head strong, deep
inside she's not exactly loving the
opposite sex at the moment. But has
Valerie's back. In between the pressure
of a new job, building relationships
and dealing with a deranged co-worker,
Dutch (Raz Adoti) has his hands full
portraying someone who has it all: a
perfect wife, beautiful daughter and the
purchase of a big wonderful home. Life
can't get any better than this.
Certainly true in this case.
Where do you go when you find your
husband has 'stepped out' on you? And
what do you do when its with another
man? Living on the Down Low is common in
the black community. As its truth
shatters lives. Duke openly leads you to
understand how it works. How its so
easily to perceive something that isn't
really there.
The 'eye blowing' method of discovering
if your target walks the same way you
do... genius. And when it happens to
Dutch, he now understands the unjust act
he's commited against his family and
God. He learns a hard lesson.
