Based on the novels by Alexander McCall Smith, HBOs television drama 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' comes to DVD with the complete first season.

 

Precious has always been close to her father confiding and seeking his wisdom. Upon her fathers demise Precious discovered she had inherited his need to help, she opens a detective agency that would not only assist people but correct the wrongs into rights in some cases; an experience of her that eventually comes to light in the story.

 

The pilot, which debuted on the BBC in 2008 is the last film directed by Anthony Minghella ('Cold Mountain', Best Director Oscar for 'The English Patient') was produced by the late Sydney Pollack (Oscar winning director for 'Out of Africa' and 'Tootsie'), Timothy Bricknell and Amy J. Moore.
