Eddie
Murphy stars as the insecure orphan
Norbit. Raised by Mr. Wong (Eddie
Murphy) at his Chinese
restaurant/Orphanage. There he is
partnered with his childhood best friend
Kate (Thandie Newton). But after a brief
pretend marriage Kate was adopted and
Norbit was left to his own devices which
included the bossy Rasputia. Desperate
for a family as well as feeling trapped,
Norbit and Rasputia begin their lives
together. But infidelity rears its ugly
head causing Norbit to lose faith
totally in his marriage. In
his dissolution, childhood friend
Kate returns and Norbit is anxious to
win her over.
