The best visual
education for promoters ever made!
Shaolin’ own Wu-Tang
Clan reunites on stage… for their final
show of the original members. When
putting this event together its certain
that no one knew Old Dirty Bastards
death would ignite the release of this
DVD. As well as the remaining Wu-Tang
Clan members album release underway.
Either way this documentary about
Wu-Tang isn’t the highlight of the film.
The best part of this
film is the resource it provides.
Interns should have this riding in their
back pocket while established
professionals should have it as a desk
reference. Between the planning and
freestyle techniques used throughout the
film along with dealing with attitudes
from the artists and their ‘habits’ that
need to be satisfied being a promoter in
this film isn’t just putting together an
event and trying to make it happen. It
was entrepreneurism at its grimiest.
Behind the scenes
Guerilla Union really shows the ugly
hard working blood sweat and tears side
of what it takes to make these events go
off… sometimes with a hitch. As they
find out. Over 100 minutes; the Wu-Tang
Clan member reunion isn’t underway.
Unfortunately the film does lack that
one essential element. The documentary
was more of the promoter than the group
itself. In order to claim the Wu-Tang
name there should have been cameras
following the group on a more consistent
basis than the organization itself.
Other than the title
malfunction, Rock the Bells definitely
grasps an essential tool in the
entertainment world visually with great
detail.
