THE NEW ADVENTURES OF BATMAN

Holy skyscrapers Batman! The Adventures of Batman, the original 1977 animated series comes to DVD for the first time ever! The 2 Disc collector set features 16 episodes of the Batman, boy-wonder Robin, Batgirl and Batmite, a dimensional imp who insists on tagging along.

The Adventures of Batman really takes you back to the origins of animation when each shot was manipulated to pull together an action for the characters. The simple tone and use of color began with just the basics streamlining into modern versions of thinner smaller Batman’s minus the utility belts of yesterday.

The DVD extras include:

·         Dark versus Light – Filmation and the Batman: With interviews ranging from the President & Publisher of DC Comics to the President of Warner Bros, the legacy of filmation will be examined.

·         Bat-Commentary – An audio commentary from Filmation historian Michael Swanigan and Filmation founder Lou Schiemer on two of the episodes from the series. The special feature will be denoted with a selectable button indicating the respective episode from which the commentary is derived.
