The street
entrepreneurs are at it again and this
time its an even bigger killing season.
With witnesses barely staying alive and
dead bodies surfacing left and right,
The Wire is definitely grasping the hood
mentality of the street code gone bad.
The Baltimore based ghetto centric
empire captures the hard knock life of
youngsters trying to earn respect
through fear of starring down the barrel
of a gun. It's what's common verses
common sense as it is easier to do the
wrong thing and harder to do the right
thing as the focus on 4 boys in the
fourth season: Michael, Namond, Randy
and Dukie create a can't miss drama.
The
horrifying truths that aren't always
lying behind closed doors are prevelant
in the fourth season as young boys
influenced decisions are exposed through
pressuring friends and abusive mothers.
However on the flipside, the writers
excellently reveal that despite the
outside worlds hang ups family values do
exist but aren't always placed front and
center by the community and its
political leaders. Instead the bottom
line is always what's best. And what's
best can sometimes cripple more than
support.
