Uncle P
(Master P) has to step in to help the
family when his older sister (Ella
Joyce) suddenly gets sick. Starring
Romeo as Uncle P’ nephew, this film is
definitely funny and filled with lessons
learned; something missing from films
today.
Obviously this film was done some time
ago as Lil Romeo is now just ‘Romeo’ and
Master P as aged quite a bit. Even
acquiring his own film production
company Hollyhood Cinema. Headed
straight to DVD, Uncle P is still funny
now as it was then.
With two
daughters and son in tow, Mom gets
overly stressed and has a minor attack.
Meanwhile eccentric rap artist/fashion
designer/business man Uncle P is dealing
with his nagging girlfriend (Mari
Marrow) who wants him to put her first
by getting married and having a family.
As P. Miller enjoys the good life his
distant family is experiencing the
worst.
Although
the story line was fabricated to say the
least still the idea of having a rich
uncle come in and save the day isn’t an
apparent reality to most. In fact, not
many single mothers can even depend on
family members even after a six year
absence.
With his
minor attempt at using his successful
rapper cross actor son as a large
headliner in the film along with veteran
actor Ella Joyce, Master P proves to
have smart moves alongside his business
demeanor. Certainly Mari Marrow isn’t at
all bad to watch as she adds humor and
girlfriend antics to the already funny
story.
Overall
Uncle P is great movie to watch with
family. It offers promise and hope to
those that struggle in everyday life.
