Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins

By Tonisha Johnson

R.J. Stevens aka Roscoe Jenkins (Martin Lawrence) is on top of the world. He has a great life; money, power and respect. To top it all off he has a beautiful girlfriend (Joy Bryant) . Put the two together and you get Hollywood star quality. But success doesn't come without a price.

While enjoying a larger than life status, R.J. gets a request from his mother to come home for their 50th Anniversary celebration. An event that R.J. would all to well want to miss. In between family reunions and introductions R.J. finds himself in the middle of an old relative rivalry, many regrets and wondering if he will ever fit in.

Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins is a funny film about family and finding the meaning of value in that unit. What is so great about the storyline as well as the visual of what the film depicts is that although this movie takes place in the south you don't feel like your in some southern type of movie we're the story focuses on the love of food and problem-solving.

Instead you get the idea of a family coming together for an event for 4 days. And what that experience is like. A great film to watch.

An Alternate Ending

Deleted and Extended Scenes
