Based on the Richard Matheson novel filmed twice before as Vincent Price's "The Last Man on Earth" and Charlton Heston's "The Omega Man"; Warner Bros' "I Am Legend" casts Will Smith as a scientist trying to find a cure while fighting off zombie like people that were infected by the plague.

Will plays Robert Neville, husband, father and military colonel who has just been informed that New York City is being quarantined. After immediately gathering his family for refuge he decides to remain in the city to discover a cure.

I AM LEGEND, clearly packs a punch in the previews. Its clear that these vampire like zombies are smart and quick thinking just as human Neville. However, being the only man on earth leaves the film dry most of the time.

Much like the Tom Hanks film "Castaway" Robert Neville (Will Smith) is the predominant cast member holding the film together. Unlike Hanks, with his coconut friend, Smith is accompanied by family pet 'Sam' (Samantha) the dog. For 3 years Neville and Sam survive the newly uncharted streets of New York; searching for food, people and a medical solution to a biochemical disaster.

Obviously on its 3rd attempt, "I AM LEGEND" has some points of 'communication' interest as oppose to action from reactions and later crosses God with numerical estimations and logic. Nevertheless "I AM LEGEND" is still a can't miss thriller.
