Missing in action
since 2007 after the overplayed,
remixed to death, commercialized
'This Is Why I'm Hot' single,
MIMS has been getting quite a
few licks from the entertainment
industry. With all sorts of
jokes from 'MIMS
who?' To 'One
Hit Wonder...' the two year
lapse had MIMS down for the
count until the single 'Move (If
You Wanna) dropped marking his
sophomore studio album 'Guilt'
set for an April 7th release.
First track aptly
titled 'Guilt', MIMS talks about
a series of subjects like
money... 'and
my wealth is expressed in a form
of filth. Now that's a statement
filled with irony" and
media '...that's
why being a rapper is so
exhausting. When you include all
of the BS you get caught up in,
all the rumors in media you get
brought up in...". A track
so laid back you can picture his
head tilt, classic baggy jeans
and timbs down, all while
reflecting on the last year(s)
experiences. Yet and still with
all that... why does MIMS feel
'Guilt'?
Track 3
'On & On' sounds familiar...
can you say Kanye West.
Track 4
'Love Rollercoaster'
features ex-Destiny Child member
LeToya Luckett.
Track 5 is the
school bell head banger
'Move (If You Wanna)',
seemingly the best track on the
album touches on the sore
'One-hit-Wonder' subject.
A mixture of R&B,
Hip Hop and Reggae; the 14 track
album also features J Holiday,
Tech N9ne and a handful of other
artists. This latest installment
to the MIMS saga is a pathetic
comeback attempt. Instead of
spending large amounts of money
on rides and jewelry he should
have spent more money on the
producers to achieve a more
marketable product.
